Distracted again
Just as I'm chugging along
Train of thought derailed

Crescent soon waxes
Endless possibilities
Illuminated

Another deadline
because of my family.
There'll be more contests

The stomach boulders
that would wear and weigh me down
now slip through my hands

Better than others'
 days when they receive bad news
that is worse than yours

​Unspoken truths are
sometimes necessary yet
not often easy.

I wrote about time,
a cherished gift, forgotten
until this moment.

It's time to fall back
cherish the sixty moments
gifted on this day

Stand tall, shoulders back;
jaw loose, breath deep, turn around
 to a new view of you
